A busy few days

Hi from Camp Agawak! My name is Caroline Routh and I’m a counselor for the PAs in cabin Y here at camp. It’s my 10th summer at Agawak and my 3rd on staff. This year I am also serving as one of the Blue and White commissioners alongside Jesse Garland and Paige Bordo.

We’ve had a busy few days here at camp from blue and white games to socials!

On Tuesday, we started our morning off with the Lake Swim. Campers and staff members woke up early to swim across the lake and enjoy hot chocolate as a treat for their efforts. Leila Heitner finished the swim first, closely followed by Gately Harwood and Violet Schoettler! After the Lake Swim, we had a full activity day. Blue Lake was filled with skiers, swimmers, paddle boarders, and sailors! The tennis courts were packed and many campers made it to the top of the Tango Tower. The night capped off with a game of Capture the Flag. It was fun to see the Blue and White teams compete, but in the end, the White team pulled out the victory!

Wednesday began with another classic Blue and White game called Top of Agawak Mountain. In "Top of", the two teams compete in a huge relay race with events like war canoeing across the lake, biking, doing a scavenger hunt, running, playing a mystery game, completing a 300 piece puzzle, archery, and more. This year the White team was the first team to burn the rope and win the game!

After the excitement of Top off, Agawak hosted Camp Kawaga for a day social. We had cotton candy, snow cones, music, a dunk tank, and carnival games to enjoy. Campers were able to reunite with friends and siblings. It was a great afternoon! In the evening, we played another Blue and White game called Pursuit. In this camp campers have to locate group members who have been blindfolded and randomly placed around camp with walkie talkies. It was a fun night with the Blue team coming out on top!

We have lots of excitement packed into these last few days of camp. Our annual Treasure Hunt is coming up soon, and the whole camp happily awaits its arrival! There is lots still in store. We’ll be fitting a lot of fun in these last few days.

We can’t wait to keep you updated with more!
