Splashing Into Summer!

We're moving Full Speed Ahead at Agawak!

Tuesday evening, the picnic tables were filled with veteran campers eager to share their love for their Blue and White Teams; an Agawak sisterhood tradition. New campers were anxiously waiting to open up a special gift wrapped in paper that revealed their team. Excitement flooded camper's faces as they ran through team tunnels and were greeted with open arms! Once all campers were assigned teams, they excitedly rushed down to the beach to witness the annual captain reveal. Cheers filled the beachfront as the countdown began. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Congratulations to Blue Team captains Bella & Carly and White Team captains Aliza & Aly.

After the reveal, teams learned several cheers and returned back to the beach for the opening night of Blue & White games: Tug of War! Our team mascots were announced, the two youngest full season campers in camp. After tugging their hearts out, campers returned to their cabins to get a good night sleep before their first full day of activities. 

Wednesday morning, campers fueled up for their busy activity day with bacon, eggs, and bagels. When the silver bell rang, campers scattered to their first of six activity periods. The Agawak waterfront was stunning and filled with sailboats, paddle boards, swimming campers, and skiing superstars! We are so proud of all the brave campers who tried many new things today. Everyone could hear the cheers of encouragement all the way from the Tango Tower to the tennis courts. Smiling campers filled the paths throughout camp. 

After a fun-filled day of activities, our Evening Program coordinators put on a fun cabin program. Counselors hid all around camp, each being worth different amounts of points. Cabins dressed up in their craziest Agawak attire: funny socks, tutus and neon! They sprinted all around camp searching high and low for staff members.  The evening ended with a giant dance party on the beachfront lawn before campers headed off to shower and snuggle into bed.   

With tomorrows temperatures hovering around 85 degrees and zero clouds in the sky, we will head into our second full day of activities going full speed ahead.
